Studio Policy
Tuition and Number of Lessons:
Fall and Spring semester have on average 13 lessons each. Please contact me regarding tuition.
Summer Semester – At least 5 lessons are required during the summer in order to hold your lesson slot in my studio. Payment is due at the beginning of the summer. Continuation of weekly lessons is encouraged and can be very flexible so as to work around vacations.
In addition to tuition, there is an annual $30 Registration Fee per student (due fall of each year). If starting lessons mid-year, the Registration Fee is $20 per semester.
Payment
Tuition is paid monthly and is due at the first lesson of each month. Invoices will be provided at the last lesson of each month with payment due the first lesson of the next month. A $5 late fee will be charged per late week. A $25 insufficient funds fee will be charged for returned checks.
Practice Expectations
You make the best progress with consistent practice over several days. Individual expectations will be discussed more at lessons. There is a reward system set up for practice and other accomplishments. 4 days of practice a week = 1 sticker/point; 5+ days of practice a week = 2 stickers/points. Extra points will be rewarded week to week. Students receive a prize when they reach 20 points.
Missed Lessons
I maintain a strict make-up policy. No make-up lessons or refunds will be given if a family cannot attend their scheduled lesson time. With a 24 hour notice, exceptions may be made due to illness (student was sick enough to stay home from school), bad weather, or family emergency in which case I will provide one make up lesson per semester. There will be a scheduled week for make-up lessons at the end of each term. The teacher is not obligated to make up missed make-up lessons.
Teacher Cancellation
I reserve one week with pay for vacation and/or sick days. Any lessons missed beyond one week will be made up or tuition will be credited.
Discontinuing Lessons
If you wish to discontinue lessons, please give one month notice as there is a waiting list of students. If you fail to do this, you will be financially responsible for the following month's tuition.
Siblings
If siblings must attend lessons they should not be a distraction to the parent, teacher, or student. Please bring a book, homework, or a quiet toy to play with for the duration of the lesson.
